AARP Free Tax Aide 2026 - Fridays 10am - 3pm at City of Delavan

Tax Aide is back for another year! AARP volunteers offer tax preparation assistance to seniors, adults, and those needing additional assistance. They are able to prepare both federal and Wisconsin state taxes.

Appointments are required to meet with tax preparers - to schedule, please call the library at 262-728-3111. Appointments can be made for either Delavan (Fridays) or Elkhorn (Mondays & Tuesdays) location.

Please note: AARP Tax Aide will be located at the City of Delavan Council Chambers, 123 S 2nd St, Delavan.

The Missing Half

At twenty-four, Nicole lives alone in her hometown of Mishawaka, Indiana, working the same dead-end job she's been working since high school. Everyone has felt sorry for her for the last seven years--since the day her older sister vanished without a trace. The only real clue in her disappearance was another young woman from the same area who disappeared in the same way, two weeks earlier. She wants nothing more than to move on from her sister's disappearance, but one day the other woman's sister walks into Nicole's life and offers her hope.

Tuberculosis has been entwined with humanity for millennia. Tuberculosis is seen as a disease of poverty that walks the trails of injustice and inequity we blazed for it. Green has become a vocal advocate for increased access to treatment and wider awareness of the healthcare inequities that allow this curable, preventable infectious disease to also be the deadliest.

The Barbizon

The Barbizon tells the story of New York's most glamorous women-only hotel, and the women who passed through its doors. World War I had liberated women from home and hearth, setting them on the path to political enfranchisement and gainful employment. Arriving in New York to work in the dazzling new skyscrapers, they did not want to stay in boarding houses; they wanted what men already had--exclusive residential hotels that catered to their needs.

Capital Campaign, Phase III

We are thrilled with the progress of our library's renovation/expansion project! Did you know there is a weekly blog with weekly construction updates? While you're following along with our progress, the Delavan Aram Public Library Foundation (DAPLF) continues to work diligently towards a Phase III goal of $500,000 in grants, pledges, and/or donations. If you have a lead on a grant or possible donor, we'd love to hear it.

As all projects go, funding is still needed especially for unique items like in the Discover Zone with hands-on toys and games. Or, maybe you know someone interested in sponsoring our Whisper Room, a small recording studio? Or, perhaps you know someone who might be interested in donating funding towards furniture?
